We had our end of the year meeting and finalized the dates for next year. We will continue to have our pull the second Saturday of June, July, August, September, and the rain date of October.

There were no major rule changes discussed if any happen we will keep you up to date on those if any happens before next year.

We just completed the rain date for the July pull and there were many first time competitors at Glenford. The competition was even tougher than normal with many state and regional level pullers getting in one last pull before the weather gets cold and wet. We had the best weather of the year with temperatures in the upper 70’s and sunshine all day.

I just finished updating the WEB site today. There is now a second photos page. There are no photos from the September pull. If anyone has any they would like to email me I would appreciate it. I would like to thank Mike Wells for sending me photos from the August pull. They are posted with the other photos

A reminder that we will have a pull October 11th to make up for the rain date earlier this year. We are treating it like a regular pull with all classes and starting at the normal times.

We finally made an entire pull in without rain. Although it was a bit questionable in the morning with the rain on Thursday and Friday, but the track was in the best shape this year. We want to thank everyone who came out and traversed the road construction on Rt 204 and also missed the Buckeye-USC football game. I will try to post alternative routes if the construction still has 204 closed for the October rain date pull. We had quite a few new vehicles pull this month.

A decision was made to move the 8500 lb checked tractors to the last class of the afternoon session and to move the 7500 hot farm as the first class. Hopefully this will help us get through all the classes a little faster and end sooner.

We had great weather for the august pull, well until it rained. Actually the weather was terrific until around midnight when it rained out the very last class of the day. We had many new tractors and trucks as well as the regulars and a huge crowd on hand to watch.

The decision to not water the track the night before made the today's track a challenge for all the pullers. In the morning session the track was dry and a little slick and finding a good line proved difficult. About half way through we had a shower come through and soak the track which helped because the track was getting a little dusty. After working the water in the morning session finished without a hitch. Wish we could say that for the evening session. After just a couple trucks pulled the rain started and soaked the top of the track. After working the track we started over and just after 2 trucks had pulled the skies opened up and drenched us. After watching the puddles get deep the pull was called and we added a pull on 10/11/2008 to make up for the rain out this month. We thank all of you for coming out and watching the rain with us.

The June pull went off with just a little delay from mother nature. The rains the night before the pull and that morning made the track to slick to start the morning session on time. After grading the track and changing the start to the opposite end of the track the day session went well and we even ended the morning session on time. By the time the evening session started we had a packed house and people were even parking on the roads. The wet track made it difficult for the trucks to get moving but with a change to the sled and a little time the night session moved right along, and along, and along. If you didn’t stay for the end it was around 2:00AM by the time all vehicles were done pulling. Thanks for coming out and hope to see you again.

The lions club notified me that they were charging $6.00 for admission up from $5.00 to cover the cost of the sled rental.
